The Central Library occupies a prominent position at the heart of the SIT campus, housed across two independent three-storeyed buildings with a combined plinth area of 1,851 sq. mt. The building was generously funded by Sri T.N. Kempahonnaiah, a distinguished philanthropist from Tumkur, whose contribution continues to benefit generations of students and researchers.

With a total collection of 1,41,844 volumes, the library serves as a comprehensive knowledge repository encompassing general volumes (62,046), Book Bank holdings (36,459), SC/ST Book Bank resources (14,863), and T-Series volumes (28,476). The reference collection includes authoritative Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Handbooks, and Standards.

The library subscribes to 116 technical periodicals — approximately 20 of which are international — and maintains a back-volume archive of nearly 3,993 periodical issues. The library is fully computerised on NewGenLib, an open-source web-enabled platform, enabling campus-wide OPAC access for seamless book discovery by author or title.
